The Olive Tree is expected to publish its list of candidates for the upcoming elections of European Parliament on Sunday, while various members of the political alliance are set to begin their election campaign tours on Wednesday. The political alliance’s first 17 confirmed candidates were announced on Friday, receiving positive comments from the center left.

According to a report by Ta Nea, the Olive Tree intends to represent all social and professional sectors in all regions in the country. It has been said that about 70 politicians showed interest in the 42 spots of the list.

Nevertheless, there is some dissatisfaction amongst PASOK executives over the fact that party executives aligned with former PM and party president Giorgos Papandreou are not participating in the campaign. Similarly, M. Karhimakis has also decided to abstain from the election.
