The farmer unions gave the government a Thursday noon deadline to come up with viable solutions for the problems related to the cost of production and book keeping. After the deadline passed, the unionists cut off one traffic lane and warned that they will cut off traffic completely at the Kouloura junction if their demands are not addressed.

The main blockades have been established at the Kouloura junction by farmers from Naousa and Alexandria, as well as at the junctions at Gypsochori, Plevroma and Mavrovouni. The farmer unions in Crete are also participating in the protests, by taking over the local tax offices. In Chania the police intervened and evacuated the local tax office of farmers.

The farmers of Serres will decide upon their course of action on Friday, while the farmer unions of Thessaly have arranged a nationwide conference of farmer unionists in order to better coordinate the blockades.
