On Saturday the coast guard located a boat carrying 37 illegal immigrants near the island Dia, north of Crete. The ship was headed for Italy. The coast guard was informed and an Air Force helicopter assisted in the search. The boat was tugged to the port of Heraklion.
Three men were arrested; a 55-year-old from Heraklion and two foreigners aged 27 and 64 years old. On Sunday they were charged by the prosecutor with felonies and gave their statements.
