The Ministry of Culture is expected to announce the latest findings in the enigmatic tomb discovered on Kasta Hill in Amphipolis, with To Vima’s sources suggesting that the archeologists have cleared dirt from the impressive mosaic to reveal the div of Persephone next to the bearded man on the chariot.

The impressive colorful mosaic that was recently discovered in the tomb features a chariot led by two white horses. A bearded man wearing a laurel wreath is riding the chariot, while the psychopomp god Hermes appears to be guiding the chariot to the underworld.

There has been much speculation as to the identity of the bearded man, with some suggesting it might be the person entombed. The discovery of Persephone standing next to the beaded man however suggests that the div is the god Pluto, ruler of the underworld.
