As Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras prepares to deliver his major economic address at the Thessaloniki International Fair, a host of labour groups and opponents of the Greek-FYROM naming deal.
The protesters include workers at public hospitals, uniformed officers, the country’s largest private sector and public sector umbrella unions (GSEE and ADEDY), and the Communist Party-linked PAME labour organisation.
Thessaloniki had been transformed into a security fortress – with the cooperation of the FBI – not only because of anti-government protests, but because representatives of some of largest US businesses and government will attend.

US Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross(photo above) will attend the inauguration of the Thessaloniki International fair, and held scheduled talks with Tsipras this afternoon.
