The weather conditions in Greece have take a turn for the worse in recent days, with areas in the north of the country seeing a dramatic temperature drop. In the area of Zagori, near Giannena in Epirus, a number of rivers froze, with the temperature dropping to -7C.
There might not be adequate snowfall yet to entice skiers, however hotels in traditional winter holiday destinations, such as Metsovo, Konitsa, Zagori and Tzoumerka, are reporting up to 90% of rooms being booked.
