The Ministry of Culture is expected to make critical announcements regarding the archeological efforts in the enigmatic tomb discovered in Amphipolis.
On Wednesday three pieces of marble form an architrave were unearthed and promptly taken to the nearby Museum of Amphipolis for restoration. The three pieces were recovered from the area between the caryatids and the wall leading to the next chamber in the tomb.
The three architrave pieces, which are colored in black and blue, were initially rumored to feature writing, prompting the Ministry to refute the rumors. The Ministry later issued another statement clarifying that it alone will provide updates and information on the archeological efforts.
