SYRIZA leader Alexis Tsipras told his MPs to be prepared for an “election campaign” summer” as he estimates that coalition government will be forced to call general election in the autumn, when it may be asked to implement new austerity measures.
Mr. Tsipras addressed his parliamentary group and discussed the outcome and results of the recent local government and European elections and urged his MPs to be prepared.
The opposition leader underlined the importance of forging “a wide, progressive alliance that will win the upcoming elections and undertake the task of rebuilding the country”.
Mr. Tsipras added that “we have no intention of succeeding any model as I, but to turn the government from a tool of bailout policy implementation into a battle station” to save the country.
