The convicted leader of the 17 November group has Alexandros Giotopoulos revealed that 8 members of the group are still at large, in a letter he sent to the Ethnos newspaper. Giotopoulos noted that these members were involved in violent attacks that resulted in deaths and injuries.

In his letter he reveals that a handwritten documents and a weapon linked to one of these individuals was stored in the group’s hideout that was discovered by the police in 2002. The weapon and notes, however, were never found, with Giotopoulos wondering whether the secret services or someone else was involved.

According to Giotopoulos a number of witnesses appeared to testify against the same individual and two others linked to him. However these witness reports were filed away. These three, he further explained, are linked to five other members, who were directly involved in homicides and other violent acts.

In concluding his letter, the ‘17N’ leader reported that the actions of those still at large were more serious and conscious than the members who were eventually arrested and found guilty in the courts.
