The European Commissioner for the Euro and Social Dialogue Valdis Dombrovskis and European Commissioner for Economic and Financial Affairs, Taxation and Customs Pierre Moscovici underlined the importance of the IMF the Greek bailout program review.
Mr. Dombrovskis argued that the European Commission and IMF bother shared mutual beliefs regarding the targets of the Greek bailout program, as well as the measures that are necessary in order to achieve them. While he conceded that there are certain differences in their respective estimations, Mr. Dombrovskis was confident that these differences may be bridged.
Similarly, the European Commissioner European Commissioner for Economic and Financial Affairs argued that there was no tension between the European Union and IMF, adding that the Fund’s participation in the Greek program was “absolutely necessary”.
