First conference on censorship in Greece begins on Thursday

The first conference on censorship in Greece is scheduled to take place between the 17th and 19th of December at Art Center in Athens. The Political Science department at the Panteion University and the Greek liaison office of the Rosa Luxemburg Foundation planned the event.

The speakers at the conference will address both direct and indirect forms of censorship in all forms of public discourse, from the arts to journalism and online communities. The conference will also feature a historical overview of censorship during junta of 1967 and the Restoration of Democracy.

This will be the first time that censorship is being investigating and documented in Greece to such an extent on a theoretical and practical level.
