The yield of the ten-year Greek bond has dropped to 11.8% on Friday, down from 19.4% last Friday. The significant drop has been attributed to the agreement reached between Greece and its creditors.

The political and financial uncertainty in recent months caused bond yields to soar, to the point that even saw hedge funds – which specialize in the acquisition of debt in countries with major financial problems – were being forced out of the Greek bond market.

The transactions conducted this week in the secondary market included short and medium term government bonds, while the transactions in corporate bonds, issued by firms such as Hellenic Petroleum (ELPE) and telecoms giant OTE, are starting to be carried out.
