Left Platform denounces Juncker over ‘blatant intervention’ in SYRIZA

The Left Platform has denounced the President of the European Commission Jean-Claude Juncker, over recent statements which are interpreted as a “blatant intervention” in SYRIZA.

In a statement published on iskra.gr, the Left Platform claims that Mr. Juncker’s first priority is to unblock and expedite the process of selling off the country’s remaining public assets.

Furthermore, the Left Platform argues that his second priority is to reform the VAT at the expense of the Greek people in order to generate a further 1.8 billion euros. The statement cites Mr. Juncker, who has mentioned that the additional VAT revenue must amount to 1% of GDP.

The statement concludes its statement by accusing Mr. Juncker of “blatant intervention”, when he commented that he does not trust the governing party (SYRIZA), because it is not a normal party. The Left Platform also responded to Mr. Juncker and asserted that a possible departure from the Eurozone would not catastrophic.
