Certain ministers appear to have not yet understood that the obligations and commitments of a government officer are different to those from an opposition officer. Over the past few days we have witnessed an endless parade of ministers on almost all media, primarily electronic, where they speak just about everything. They have an opinion about everything, without taking into account the impact of their statements. One wonders when they deal with the bigger problems they are faced with, since they chose to spend their time on television panels.
It is absurd for some ministers to not have sworn an oath yet, while others who do not have clear responsibilities and insist on acting as commentators, instead of closing themselves in their office and dealing with the problems. Someone must explain to them that their comments are closely scrutinized these days, that they are being counted and evaluated in different way from the Europeans, than before. An unfortunate comment today can cause far greater problems to the country, as it is obvious that the government and their personal credibility is constantly under review.
It is imperative that this patter comes to an end. Society has had enough media and petty political games, which to a great extent are responsible for our present situation. The people voted for the government and those who expect actions, not words. The era of easy promises and painless commentary is long gone. Furthermore everyone in the government, from the first to the last minister, must realize that they do not have unlimited time. If they waste it on media spins, they will quickly find out that problems do not wait for anyone.
