The State Council Assembly has rejected the appeals launched by the employees of eleven public sector companies, who demanded that the earlier decisions of the Interministerial Committee of Reforms and Privatizations for their privatization be quashed.

The companies – OLP, OLTH, ODIE, OPAP, DEPA, Hellenic Petroleum, the company managing the site of the former airport at Elliniko and Egnatia Odos SA – are to transferred to privatization fund TAIPED.

The appeal was rejected as the State Councilors argued that the unions had no legal interest and that the transfer of shares to TAIPED does not restrict their activities, which may result in dismissals. The Council also stressed that the requests for annulment of the decision would constitute popular actions.
