The police announced the arrest of a 54-year-old man in Alexandroupoli, after it was discovered that he possessed 230 ancient artifacts in a store room on his property.
The 54-year-old man has been charged with violation of the relevant legislation on the protection of antiquities and cultural heritage. The majority of ceramic artifacts dated from the Neolithic to the post-Byzantine eras, while a number of stone artifacts dated to prehistoric times.
The recovered artifacts have been seized and transferred to the relevant archeological bodies.
