With the administrative employees of the University of Athens and the National Technical University of Athens opting to continue their strike for another week, prosecutor Panagiota Fakou has launched an investigation to determine whether a recent judicial decree has been violated.

The university administrative employees decided to extend their strike until the 18th of November, in protest to the government’s suspension and dismissal plans. Students who support the administrative staff demands have grouped together and occupied various NTUA departments.

The Council of State’s ruling on the legal basis of the suspension measure, which is expected over the next few days, will play an important role in the continuation of these strikes.

The Federation of Secondary School Teachers (OLME) has announced a rally outside the Propylaea building at 12:30 on Thursday. At 6pm the protesters will demonstrate outside the Ministry of Education and spend the night there, so that it is blocked off on Friday morning.
