Popular comic actor Kostas Tsakonas reportedly passed away late on Wednesday evening, at the age of 72. The beloved actor had been battling cancer in recent years.
According to members of his family and in spite of the deteriorating condition of his health, Tsakonas approached his health issues with his characteristic sense of humor.
Tsakonas was born in Athens in 1943 and studied at Leonidas Trivizas’ drama school of popular experimental theater as well as the “Veaki” drama school. He made his first celluloid appearance in a short film by Kostas Zyrinis.
His funeral has been scheduled for 11am on Saturday at the Argyroupoli cemetary in Athens.
