Two documents, which could form the basis for an agreement, will be discussed at the critical Eurogroup scheduled to begin at 14:30 in Brussels, one by the Greek government and the other by Greece’s international creditors.

According to a government source, the Greek side remained focused on its latest proposals which had been welcomed by the institutions a few days ago. The source added that the proposals were further specified and are considered an “extremely realistic approach” for an immediate agreement, within the scope of the 20 February agreement.

Sources from Brussels revealed that the creditors will also submit their own proposal, which will include any possible points of convergence between the two sides.

Upon arrival to the Eurogroup, the Austrian Minister of Finances Hans Jörg Schelling commented that if there is no agreement today, then other options must be examined. He also noted that Sunday was the final deadline and that he was surprised by the Greek government’s calm.

The German news agency MNI has reported rumors of a possible Eurogroup being scheduled on Saturday.
