After failing to come to an agreement on Wednesday, the Prime Minister of Greece Alexis Tsipras has arranged a series of meetings with European leaders, in the sidelines of the EU Summit in Brussels.

While arriving in Brussels, the Greek PM stated that he has committed to carrying out reforms. After meeting with the Belgian Prime Minister, Charles Michel Mr. Tsipras told journalists that “now is the time to move on with the changes that the previous government did not make, to put an end to the corruption and to tackle tax evasion”.

Mr. Tsipras will also meet Latvian Prime Minister Laimdota Straujuma and British Prime Minister David Cameron, in order to discuss Greece’s reform proposals and positions. The Greek PM was also to meet with Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko, to discuss the ongoing military crisis and protection of Greek expatriates in the country, however it was cancelled after the latest developments in the talks taking place in Minsk.

Later in the afternoon Mr. Tsipras has arranged to meet with the President of European Parliament Martin Schulz, before the Summit. Mr. Tsipras’ scheduled meetings are planned as follows (local Brussels time):

  • 10:00 – Meeting with Belgian Prime Minister Charles Michel

  • 12:00 – Meetings with British Prime Minister David Cameron and Latvian Prime Minister Laimdota Straujuma
