Tsipras asks UN Secretary-General Guterres to mediate on captured Greek officers

The prime minister asked that the UN convey to the Turkish side the message on the need to have a swift, positive outcome in the case, with the freeing and return of the two Greek army officers.

Prime Alexis Tsipras asked for UN Secretary-General Antonio Gutteres’ intercession to free two army officers captured by Turkish troops, in a telephone contact today.

Broader geopolitical developments, Greek-Turkish ties, and negotiations on the FYROM naming issue were also discussed.
