The International Monetary Fund has refuted a report in German tabloid Bild, according to which the IMF has called for a government of technocrats to be installed in Athens. Mega Channel correspondent in Washington Michalis Ignatiou was told by an IMF spokesperson that the report is completely wrong.
According to the German report, the IMF is demanding guarantees regarding the implementation of the proposed measures and as such, is said to have proposed the formation of a government of technocrats, similar to the Loukas Papadimos administration. The IMF is reportedly not convinced that the SYRIZA-led government will implement the agreements.
