The Mayor of Thessaloniki Yannis Boutaris announced his intentions to create a Holocaust Museum in the city, during a municipal council meeting on Monday.
Mr. Boutaris explained that along with an education center on Nazism, the Museum would not be “dedicated to the eradication of 55,000 fellow citizens, but a symbol against Totalitarianism”.
A study for the creation of the Holocaust museum will be presented in the near future. The museum will likely be constructed in the building complex of the old railway station.
