After the last-minute triumph against Ivory Coast on Tuesday, which saw the Greek national football team progress to the knockout phase of the World Cup, Fernando Santos’ squad is now preparing for its next challenge against competition surprise Costa Rica.
Despite being criticized in international media for its cautious defensive playing style, the Greek team has managed to succeed where traditional European powerhouses – such as Spain, England and Italy – have failed in the World Cup.
Aside from Panagiotis Kone who had to be substituted after suffering an injury in the game against Ivory Coast, the Greek squad is not facing any problems. Kostas Katsouranis will also be available, after missing the previous game for a red card he received in the game versus Japan.
The critical game on Sunday is scheduled to be broadcast by NERIT at 11pm.
