It’s painfully obvious that the Germans are not keeping up with appearances.
The feel strong and want to rule Europe.
They have Brussels under they complete control, they have broken the European Central Bank’s resistance, they have turned EU institutions into they Chancellery’s branches.
The French are stunned; the satellite central European countries look like Merkel and Schäuble’s extensions.
That way the Germans feel certain and attempt to enforce their model on the rebellious and “irresponsible”, according to their estimation, Mediterranean South.
They mercilessly use “numbers”, without a care for the particularity of circumstances or the peculiarity of the economies.
In Greece’s case they were especially cruel; in Cyprus’ case they were ruthless and shameless.
They targeted the island’s banking sector and wanted to finish it in no time.
Such was their desire that they weren’t even prepared to protect the bank deposits. Their handling was surprisingly clumsy.
Cyprus is already “on fire”, her economy is being ruined, the state is under threat of instability and the persistent crisis has all the potential of being transmitted to Greece and elsewhere.
The German stance has exposed the Eurozone to unprecedented dangers, spreading doubt throughout the Old Continent.
Since the German unification they act differently. First they claimed and achieved to build the Eurozone according to their beliefs.
In time they turned the Euro into their tool and now they want to violently homogenize Europe, so that they invest less and gain more.
Since 2002 they have “pocketed” hundreds of billions of euros, effortlessly funded the rebuilding of East Germany and now they want everything to their taste, forgetting the promises of a humane Europe, a Europe of solidarity and cohesion.
There is no point lying, the European vision is nearly lost. Nobody believes in it, nobody is defending Europe.
The German boot is crushing the noblest post-war political achievement.
This Europe, what Merkel and Schäuble have turned it into, is unbearable.
The founders and European people dreamed of something different.
It’s not far off from becoming a revolting idea, synonymous to repression and cruelty.
Nobody will be moved; most will hate and stand against Europe.
Only Germans like the dreadful Merkel and austere Schäuble could achieve this.
