A homeless man tragically perished early on Wednesday morning, near the Home for Elderly in the Ambelokipi area of Athens, due to a fire.
It appears that the unfortunate man set fire to some palettes in order to keep warm from the cold. The victim fell asleep and seems to have perished when his blankets caught fire.
The medical examiner has been called out to determine the exact cause of death.
