The secondary education teacher federation OLME has announced a series of demonstrations for today all over the country in protest of the government’s mobility scheme. In Athens, the rally is at 1pm at Klafthmonos Square, followed by a march with local government unionists and suspended public sector employees.
Additionally OLME has announced that it will go on strike on the 7th of February, on the day when the State Council is scheduled to examine the teacher appeal against the mobility and suspension scheme.
The European teaching federation ETUCE issued a vote and supports the teacher struggle against the government and troika demands. In their announcement the European federation explains that the impact on education will have an unprecedented effect on future generations.
Meanwhile, OLME’s board of directors decided to organize its tenth Education Conference in Giannena on the 28th, 29th and 30th of March and will be focused on technical education and the role of high school.
