The opposition party PASOK has issued a statement accusing the SYRIZA-led government g violating the constitution and insulting the legislative powers of Parliament by refusing to pass the recent Eurogroup agreement through Parliament.
PASOK also attacked the President of Parliament Zoi Konstantopoulou for colluding with the government in an effort ot “avoid any unfavorable Parliamentary discussion” and accused her of trying to circumvent parliamentary control.
The government is accused of favoring an “anti-democratic, anti-constitutional and anti-Parliamentary approach” and that its decision sends conflicting messages domestically and abroad, regarding the trivialization of national and European institutions.
In conclusion, PASOK accused the government of “being afraid of its own majority in Parliament” and demanded that any agreements that have been and will be signed for the new extension to be publicized.
