A ten-year-old boy was tragically killed in Myconos late on Monday afternoon, while playing watersports at the Kalo Livadi beach.
It appears that the child was in an inflatable boat that being tugged by a speedboat, but was thrown overboard due to the high speed and low waves.
The powerboat operator turned around to pick up the child, however the ten year-old was struck by the speedboat’s propeller, leading to his tragic death. The life guard on duty was unable to save the child.
The manager of the watersports business and the speed-boar operator have been arrested. The Coast Guard has launched an investigation.
