An antifascist demonstration is scheduled to take place today in at 6pm this afternoon at the scene of Pavlos Fyssas’ murder in Keratsini in order to protest the latest reappearance of Golden Dawn in the area. The protest is organized by the Keratsini-Drapetsona offices of SYRIZA and other leftist groups.
On Saturday the 25th of January a group of about 80 Golden Dawn members clad in black uniforms marched to the site where Pavlos Fyssas was murdered by Giorgos Roupakias and after distributing flyers and taking down a memorial banner, proceeded to attack the nearby Resalto squat.
The SYRIZA offices issued a statement explaining that during the attack, the Golden Dawn supports threw bricks and stones which went through a bed room window and nearly injured a child. The police was contacted, but was late to respond, thus allowing the 80 or so Golden Dawn members to depart.
After the Golden Dawn assault, anarchists and members of local leftist groups arranged an antifascist march in area.
