The change of weather and heavy rainfall over the past couple days have turned Idomeni into an endless mudflat, making living conditions ever harder for the migrants and refugees still camped in the area.

Over 200 refugees decided to leave the makeshift camp last week on Thursday, with many more having expressed their intention to leave over the next few days. Police sources told the Ethnos newspaper that many more are expected leave the area, primarily families.

It was also announced that while the railway line in Idomeni has been cleared out of tents, the line is not currently in use, since children play nearby. The latest official count shows that 10,072 people remain camped at Idomeni.
