The Minister of National Defense and Independent Greeks chief Panos Kammenos has clarified that his party MPs will vote in Parliament according to their principles.
Should his party MPs not agree with a bill brought for consideration, he argued on ANT1’s morning news program, they will then vote against it. “The Independent Greeks MPs are not sheep, they will vote according toe their conscious, as set out by the Constitution” he added.
Mr. Kammenos also stressed that the SYRIZA/ANEL coalition government has managed to leve its mark even before it has made a policy statement and underlined that that the doomful projections and fearmongering was not real.
The ANEL leader further argued that “we did not witness catastrophes; we did not see banks shut down and ATMs dry up, we did not see this climate of terror that the outgoing government was trying to impose on the Greek people”, in reference to New Democracy’s election campaign.
The government spokesman Gabriel Sakellaridis also appeared on ANT1 and commented that Mr. Kammenos’ statement was “fair” and that there is a constructive communication between the two government partners regarding bills.
Mr. Sakellaridis added that there was a good cooperation between the two party leaders and estimated that it is unlikely that a bill will be submitted in Parliament without the approval of both partners.
