The ancient theater on the islands on Delos, which dates back to the 3rd century B.C., will come alive once again on Friday and Saturday after about 2,000 years, with a performance of Ekavi, A Refugee on Delos.

In the ancient times the theater was known to host major celebrations with the participation of artists from all corners of the Hellenistic world. Delos was a holy sanctuary and the mythical birthplace of twin gods Apollo and Artemis.

The stage performance was organized by the Ephorate of Antiquities of the Cyclades and the Municipality of Myconos in an effort to raise awareness for the ongoing refugee crisis.

The Municipal and Regional Theater of Agrinio will stage the play under the auspices of the President of the Hellenic Republic Prokopis Pavlopoulos, with Despina Bebedelli starring and Nikos Karageorgou directing.

There are a very limited number of seats available for the theatrical performances, with reservations and further information available at 210-3250148.
