The governor of the Bank of Greece Yannis Stournaras highlighted the risk of wasting the hard sacrifices which the Greek people have made over the past few years, at the international conference organized in coordination with the European Real Estate Society (ERES).
Mr. Stournaras argued that eliminating uncertainties and restoring the macroeconomic balance are necessary requirements in order to see a return to growth and attract investors.
According to the Greek central banker, supporting competitiveness and credibility, as well as taking initiatives that will make Greece a friendlier environment for investors are necessary.

“Stournaras has major political responsibilities and should have resigned”
SYRIZA MP and close associate of the Ministry of Productive Reconstruction Lafazanis, Stathis Leoutsakos reacted negatively to Mr. Stournaras’ comments. Mr. Leoutsakos argued that “Mr. Stournaras has major political responsibilities for what the Greek people have gone through and should have resigned to help the country on its path”.
