The Coast Guard reported that on Sunday evening they were alerted by a resident in Rhodes that eight refugees, seven men and one woman, appeared on a beach in the Ladiko Bay.
According to the Syrian refugees, traffickers transported them from the Dalaman region in Turkey and threw them in the sea where they approached the bay in Rhodes. One of the refugees did not make it and drowned.
The eight Syrian refugees are currently being help at the port authority in Rhodes
