ATM and car dealership in Athens targeted by arsonists

The police reported that a number of arson attacks against ATMs and a car dealership took place in the early hours on Tuesday morning in various areas in Athens.

The first attack against a Citi Bank ATM in Plaka too place at about 2.20am, while an Alpha Bank ATM in Kolonaki was attacked at about 3.10am. The arsonists doused the ATMs with a flammable liquid before setting fire, which caused minor damages to the machines.

Later, at about 4am, an implemented explosive device made from gas canisters went off outside a Skoda dealership on Sygrou Avenue in Nea Smyrni. The explosion and ensuing fire destroyed four used cars that were on sale outside the dealership.
