28yo man beaten to death for asking for friend’s accrued wages

A 28-year-old man was beaten to death on Tuesday afternoon in downtown Athens when he asked for the accrued wages owed to a friend of his by the restaurant owner boss.

The 28-year-old victim, who was a resident of Pyrgos in Ilia and visiting Athens, went to the restaurant to demand the money owed to a friend of his. The victim got into an argument with the 43-year-old restaurant owner, who then called the 39-year-old bounce to “settle the debt”.

The bouncer knocked the victim unconscious by punching him in the head with steel-lined gloves and continued his savage assault unopposed. A DIAS motorcycle police patrol was called out and arrested the 39-year-old for the lethal assault, while the 43-year-old was later arrested for instigating the murder.

The victim was taken to the hospital for treatment, but succumbed to severe craniocerebral traumas suffered in the attack.
