The much-debated anti-government protest arranged outside Parliament on Wednesday managed to attract about 7 to 8,000 people. Although people of all ages attended the demonstration, the majority was over the age of 40 and either unemployed or retired. Few joined in on chanting, which was mostly aimed at calling the government to resign.

Adding to the confusion over the ultimate aim of protest, were demonstrations holding signs against the Brexit. A PA system had also been set up, which played election campaign slogans and pledges by Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras.

Despite organizers claiming the protest to be unrelated to any parties, many New Democracy, River and PASOK officers and MPs showed up, such as Miltiadis Varvitsiotis, Adonis Georgiadis, Thanasis Plevris, Grigoris Psarianos, Thanasis Chimonas and Petros Tatsopoulos.

Some tension was caused when one protester attempted to burn a flag of the European Union, but was prevented by others around him.
