The Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras has called a ministerial council meeting for Wednesday morning in order to discuss the latest developments on pressing issues, such as the bailout program review and the farmer protests.

In relation to the review, the Minister of Finances Euclid Tsakalotos was clear in saying that it must conclude within February, otherwise Greece will be “in trouble, while government spokesperson Olga Gerovasili argued that “the ball is the institutions’ court”. The Eurogroup chief Jeroen Dijsselbloem however has noted that greater clarity is required, regarding the Greek government’s stance on the pension reform. He also spoke about additional measures being needed.

Regarding the farmer protests, the government has repeatedly stressed that it is open to “exhaustive and honest talks”, however not from “scratch”. The farmers, who are being divided and seemingly unable to agree on their demands, will give a press conference on Wednesday to explain address their latest actions and intention to demonstrate outside Parliament.

The hot spots are expected to be prepared by the 15th of February, according to the Minister of National Defense, in spite of local reactions. The PM recently discussed the refugee crisis with German Chancellor Angela Merkel and the potential involvement of NATO. The Greek Prime Minister underlined that any such involvement can only take place in Turkish territorial waters.
