The board of the Panhellenic Pharmaceutical Association (PFS) has decided to temporarily suspend the pharmacy strike, which was launched on Monday, although it is likely to resume on Monday. As such, pharmacies will operate as normal on the 29th and 30th of October.

According to the PFS, the strike ahs been called in response to government plans to introduce changes to the ownership of pharmacies, which will allow non-pharmacists to own and operate such businesses. In its statement it argued that the reform will have a detrimental effect on healthcare in order to serve financial interests.

Meanwhile, the PFS has announced a general meeting for Saturday, where future strike actions will be debated.
