The Minister of Finances Yanis Varoufakis expressed the desire for France to be the catalyst in a European agreement for Greece, after meeting with his French counterpart Michel Sapin in Paris.

Mr. Varoufakis will have marathon discussions rgarding the Greek economy over the next few days. On Tuesday afternoon he is scheduled to meet with the European Commissioner for Financial Affairs Pierre Moscovici in Brussels, before returning to the French capital to meet with the French Minister of Economy, Industrial Renewal and Information Technology Emmanuel Macron.

On Wednesday the Minister of Finances will travel to Rome, where he has arranged to meet with his Italian counterpart Pier Carlo Padoan. A trip to Madrid will follow, where he will meet with Spanish Finance Minister Luis de Guindos, most likely on Friday.

Meanwhile, the government Vice President Yannis Dragasakis, along with the Alternate Minister of Foreign Affairs Euclid Tsakalotos, will meet with the European Central Bank president Mario Draghi at 5:30pm in Frankfurt.
