Following his meetings with the Prime Minister Antonis Samaras, the leader of the main opposition Alexis Tsipras and DIMAR leader Fotis Kouvelis the President Karolos Papoulias is scheduled to meet today at 13:45 with the leader of The River Stavros Theodorakis.

In a recent radio interview, Mr. Theodorakis expressed his disagreement with the opposition parties’ call for early elections, in relation to the upcoming Presidential election in early 2015.

Mr. Theodorakis stressed that the “2-3 months [of election campaigning] when we will be joking about who will be elected” would be “very dangerous” and argued that the current Parliament should elect a “powerful President”, before considering elections.
