The Minister of Administrative Reform Kyriakos Mitsotakis spoke to Star Channel on Tuesday evening and revealed that the public sector wages plan will be discussed and ready in September.

According to the Minister the new plan will also include various bonuses for achieving goals, but these will not burden the budget as the plan is “budget neutral”. Mr. Mitsotakis avoided making any further revelations, but mentioned that “some groups” of civil servants will face wage cuts without further elaborating.

Discussions regarding the selection procedures for supervisor positions in the public sector will take place after Easter. Mr. Mitsotakis noted that after much debate, he decided to only allow public sector employees to apply for the positions of general directors.

Additionally, the Minister explained that aside from 15,000 troika-mandated dismissals in 2014, there are no other dismissals planned, without however discounting any individual cases related to misconduct or any changes to structures.
