The unemployment agency OAED has launched an ambitious apprenticeship program for 20,000 students, who will collect 11 euros per day. The duration of the apprenticeships will be four months and students will be occupied for six hours on a daily basis.

The program was approved by the Deputy Minister of Finances Christos Staikouras, the Minister of Growth Kostis Hatzidakis, Minister of Education Konstantinos Arvanitopoulos and the Minister of Labor Yannis Vroutsis.

The Government Gazette stipulates that the program’s budget is about 20 million euros and that students will be able to apply to public and private sector businesses alike.
