New Democracy’s parliamentary representative Makis Voridis claimed that the former government general secretary Panagiotis Baltakos’ contacts with Golden Dawn were “a personal choice”, in an effort to distance his party from Mr. Baltakos’ actions which brought major embarrassment to the government.

Mr. Voridis, who appeared on Mega Channel’s morning new show, continued his estimation by dubbing Mr. Baltakos’ decision to maintain communication with Golden Dawn as a serious and profound political mistake.

The parliamentary representative dismissed the allegations that Justice has been perverted in the prosecution of Golden Dawn MPs, wondering whether there was need to manipulate the 32 case-files of felonies attributed to Golden Dawn members and supporters.

Mr. Voridis also assured that Mr. Baltakos was not involved in any way in the collection of evidence for the Golden Dawn case files.
