The Parliamentary Assembly will convene today at noon in order to decide whether the remaining five Golden Dawn MPs – Eleni Zaroulia, Michalis Arvanitis, Nikos Kouzilos, Dimitris Koukoutsis and Ilias Kasidiaris – are to have their parliamentary immunity lifted, in order to face felony charges. The first four MPs are being prosecuted for joining and directing a criminal organization, while Kasidiaris faces firearm and ammunition possession with intent to supply a criminal organization.

Earlier on, the Parliamentary Ethics Committee voted in favor of lifting the immunity of Golden Dawn MPs Konstantinos Barbarousis, Polyvios Zisimopoulos and Chrysovalantis Alexopoulos (who recently abandoned the neo-Nazi party), in order to respond to charges of joining and directing a criminal organization.

Barbarousis and Alexopoulos opted to address the Ethics Committee in writing, while MP Zisimopoulos attended the session in person to respond to any questions. All three MPs rejected the charges and claimed they joined Golden Dawn due to their patriotism.
