The weekly business magazine Businessweek praised the Greek recovery in an article of its latest edition, entitled “Yasou: Greece Is Pulling Off an Amazing Recovery”.

According to the article, international investors are increasingly being convinced that Greece will be in the position to pay off its debts, as evident by the significant improvement in the country’s finances. The author praised the Greek government’s efforts and noted that trust is important to further convince investors.

The article stresses that Greece managed to achieve a primary balance in its budget ahead of schedule and now hopes for the best as it prepares to return to the markets prior to the European elections in May.

Additionally, the successful recapitalization of Alpha Bank and Piraeus bank, as well major infrastructure projects (such as the new airport in Crete, the Corinth-Patra national high way and the free Wi-Fi access) are likely to increase the appetite of international investors.

The article concludes that Greece continues to face great challenges and that further efforts are necessary to overcome them, such as politically-protected interests that stifle growth.
