The Prime Minister Antonis Samaras was accompanied by his Minister of Labor Yannis Vroutsis on his trip to Brussels, where the two will participate in a European summit on employment.

The social summit, which takes place twice a year, will allow EU bodies, employers and employees to discuss and review the policies of the “Europe 2020” strategy plan. The subject for this summit will be focused on bolstering trust in Europe and job creation.

Other participants in the Summit include the President of the European Council Herman Van Rompuy, the President of the European Commission Jose Manuel Barroso, the European Commissioner for Employment, Social Affairs and Inclusion László Andor, as well as the Prime Ministers and Labor Ministers of the two next Presidencies (Italy and Latvia) and the presidents and general secretaries of ETUC, BUSINESSEUROPE, CEEP and UEAPME.
