Antiauthoritarian movements and groups in Athens have announced a solidarity demonstration at 7pm on Thursday outside the Propylaea building, in response to the death of 15-year-old Berkin Elvan in Turkey. The demonstrators will then march to the Turkish embassy.

The 15-year-old died after being hospitalized in a coma for 9 months, due to serious injuries he suffered from a police tear gas canister during anti-government demonstrations in Istanbul last summer.

A number of demonstrations also took place yesterday in Thessaloniki and Exarchia, the troubled downtown area of Athens where the 16-year-old Alexis Grigoropoulos was gunned down by police office Epaminondas Korkoneas.
