Opposition MP Manolis Glezos questioned the comments of German President Gauck who is visiting Greece, regarding a “moral debt” to Greece and refusal to engage in a discussion about reparations for the Occupational loan and disasters in Greece.

Mr. Glezos told Real FM that “Germany’s moral debt towards other countries was translate into giving the countries what others deemed appropriate” and argued Germany must also formally accept that the occupational loan.

The SYRIZA MP also expressed his confidence that the President of Democracy Karolos Papoulias would pose the matter to his German counterpart during their meeting, and has requested that the government also consider posing the subject.
